Principal Investigators

Ronald M. Krauss, M.D., Senior Scientist
Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI)

Dr. Krauss is a world renowned researcher in the field of cardiovascular disease and has contributed significantly to the understanding of how diet and genetics affect the risk for heart disease. Dr. Krauss is board-certified in internal medicine, endocrinology and metabolism. To find out more about Dr. Krauss’ research program, click here.

Nathalie Bergeron, PhD, Associate Staff Scientist
Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI)

Dr. Bergeron holds a Ph.D. in Nutritional Biochemistry.  Her research is clinical in nature and focuses primarily on the quality of dietary fats and carbohydrates and their relationship to body composition, and lipoprotein metabolism and kinetics in individuals at increased risk for cardiovascular disease.  In addition to her research activities at CHORI, Dr. Bergeron is a Professor of Biomedical Sciences at Touro University California, College of Pharmacy.
